NUCLEAR MEDICINE
Small Animal
Nuclear Medicine is extremely useful in the diagnosis of the obscure or difficult lameness in the small animal. Other indications for nuclear medicine studies may include porto-systemic shunts, renal clearance studies, the diagnosis and treatment of hyperthyroid felines. Animal Imaging is approved to administer I-131 to treat hyperthyroid cats.

Equine
Nuclear Medicine is used for a number of indications in the equine patient. Bone scans are very useful to diagnose a poor performing horse with lameness which may be difficult to diagnose otherwise. These studies can also be very helpful in evaluating pathology in the pelvis, back, cervical spine or head.
