SMALL ANIMAL
Species: Canine
Breed: Blue Heeler
Age: 12
Sex: Male
History: Owned by radiologist (ultrasonographer).
Owner was able to document mass in liver with ultrasound, however,
was unaware of presence of other lesions.
Findings: Multiple masses noted in liver. Gadolinium
contrast intensifies the signal on tumors. Enlarged mesenteric
lymph nodes noted as well. There are focal areas of increased
signal within the liver parenchyma that enhance with gadolinium
contrats material, consistent with metastatic infiltration. On
dorsal views there is enlargement of the hepatic lymph nodes,
suggesting further metastasis within the abdomen.
Impressions & Recommendations: Findings are consistent
with hepatic neoplasia with regional lymph node involvement. Liver
biopsies have been obtained and the patient is undergoing chemotherapy
at the present time.
Species: Canine
Breed: German Shepard
Age: 6
Sex: Female
History: Acute rear leg paralysis with uninary
incontenence.
Findings: This is a lateral T1-weighted MRI image
of the lumbosacral region. There is loss of normal signal from
the terminal portions of the spinal cord associated with extrusion
of disc material with impingement of the terminal nerve roots
within the spinal canal at the level of L7-S1.
