Small Animal

Species: Canine
Breed: Blue Heeler
Age: 12
Sex: Male

History: Owned by radiologist (ultrasonographer). Owner was able to document mass in liver with ultrasound, however, was unaware of presence of other lesions.

Findings: Multiple masses noted in liver. Gadolinium contrats intensifies the signal on tumors. Enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes noted as well. There are focal areas of increased signal within the liver parenchyma that enhance with gadolinium contrast material, consistent with metastatic infiltration. On dorsal views there is enlargement of the hepatic lymph nodes, suggesting further metastasis within the abdomen.

Impressions & Recommendations:
Findings are consistent with hepatic neoplasia with regional lymph node involvement. Liver biopsies have been obtained and the patient is undergoing chemotherapy at the present time.
